Ezra Pound Tapestries
Description: This is an original digital painting inspired by the photograph of Ezra Pound by Richard Avedon at William Carlos Williams' house in 1958. Pound was one of the most controversial, influential, and innovative poets of the modernist period. His contribution to poetry began with his promotion of Imagism – a movement that emphasizes on clarity, precision and economy of language. He was awarded the Bollingen Prize in 1949 by the Library of Congress for his unfinished 120-section epic, The Cantos.
Description: Edited and largely written by Wyndham Lewis, with the help of a few friends, The Tyro was Lewis’s attempt to continue the work of Blast and Vorticism after a lapse of seven years. Like its predecessor Blast, it ran for just two issues, published in two different years. It is more concerned with art and less with literature than Blast, perhaps because Ezra Pound was no longer helping Lewis. The Tyro is also more conventional in its typography and less startling in general, though it remains important to students of modernism.

Description: William Carlos Williams (1883-1963) was a Puerto Rican and American poet and writer. He was a modernist, associated with the movement of imagism (Ezra Pound), and he wanted to make a fusion of painting and poetry. Some of his books' titles directly express this platform, i.e., " Pictures from Brueghel and Other Poems". This book won him the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1963.
