This is an original digital painting inspired by the photograph of Ezra Pound by Richard Avedon at William Carlos Williams' house in 1958. Pound was one of the most controversial, influential, and innovative poets of the modernist period. His contribution to poetry began with his promotion of Imagism – a movement that emphasizes on clarity, precision and economy of language. He was awarded the Bollingen Prize in 1949 by the Library of Congress for his unfinished 120-section epic, The Cantos.

Ezra Weston Loomis Pound (30 October 1885 – 1 November 1972) was an expatriate American poet and critic, a major figure in the early modernist poetry movement, and a fascist sympathizer.1 His contribution to poetry began with his development of Imagism, a movement derived from classical Chinese and Japanese poetry, stressing clarity, precision, concision, and economy of language. His works include Ripostes (1912), Hugh Selwyn Mauberley (1920) and the unfinished 120-section epic, The Cantos (1917–1969).

William Carlos Williams (1883-1963) was a Puerto Rican and American poet and writer. He was a modernist, associated with the movement of imagism (Ezra Pound), and he wanted to make a fusion of painting and poetry. Some of his books' titles directly express this platform, i.e., " Pictures from Brueghel and Other Poems". This book won him the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1963.

Two years before his early death, French poet Tristan Corbière (1845 – 1875) published Les amours jaunes. It was barely noticed. After Paul Verlaine included him in his anthology of the accursed poets, Tristan Corbière became immortal as one of the great poets of symbolism and predecessor of surrealism. He influenced poets of all styles, among them Pound and Eliot.
