The novel follows the adventures of an unnamed narrator who having committed a botched robbery and brutal murder, ends up in a two-dimensional police station where he is introduced to "Atomic Theory" and its relation to bicycles, the existence of eternity (which turns out to be just down the road), and the view that the earth is not round but "sausage-shaped." With the help of his newly found soul named "Joe," he grapples with the riddles and contradictions presented to him by three eccentric policemen. Darkly comic gothic horror.

Description: Halo-halo, also spelled haluhalo, Tagalog for "mix-mix", is a popular cold dessert in the Philippines made up of crushed ice, evaporated milk or coconut milk, and various ingredients including side dishes such as ube jam (ube halaya), sweetened kidney beans or garbanzos, coconut strips, sago, gulaman (agar), pinipig, boiled taro, leche flan, slices of fruit and root crop preserves. The dessert is topped with a scoop of ube ice cream. I remixed this design with the great wave as the ice in the halo-halo.
