Gearing up for a zesty Mardi Gras with the court jester!

One of the highlights of visiting Cambridge is visiting the grounds of King's College. In this image, taken across the Front Court, are the Porter's Lodge and the Wikin's Building. I don't think anybody is allowed to walk on that grass; it is immaculately mowed. The Porter's Lodge serves as the entrance to the grounds and is a pure flight of Victorian fancy with its spires and dome.

Visiting Cambridge University requires that you visit the grounds of King's College. This is a view from the southeast across the Front Court of the Gibbs Building and the King's College Chapel to the right. The Gibbs Building, named after its architect, is built in a neoclassical style and completed in about 1730. I love this image for the way the building stands out in the bright sunlight; it just looks so proud across the immaculately mowed lawn.
