Mosaics from the thermal baths built by the emperor Trajan Decius (249-251 AD),It represents two masks resting on the projecting base of two walls arranged at an angle, seen in perspective; two flutes lean against a wall, casting their shadow on it. The female mask portrays a woman with large eyes and a wide open mouth; in her hair, curled in long curls, a ribbon is tied, tied in a bow over the center of the forehead. In man the physiognomic features are accentuated and ridiculed: the huge mouth, the wide and flattened nose, the protruding eyes, the wrinkled cheeks, on the head a crown of ivy and berries, an ornament linked to the Dionysian cult,

As an actor myself, I really miss going up on stage. But because of the corona virus, the theater is shut down. This is my way of showing my feelings in this drawing I made.

Aristophanes is the only surviving playwright of Greek Old Comedy. Considered the Father of Comedy, he poked fun over classical Athens, including politicians and demagogues such as Cleon. The plays by Aristophanes are a true masterpiece of Greek theater.
