Kintbury Church Tapestries

Looking over the churchyard to St Mary's, the parish church at Kintbury, West Berkshire. This lovely C12th Norman church stands in the centre of the village, and is not far from the Kennet and Avon Canal. Carry on walking down the hill here and you cross Vicarage Bridge over the waterway to join the towpath leading to the lock. Kintbury's nearest town is Newbury, the administrative centre for West Berkshire.

The canal passes through the village via Kintbury Lock. Next to it the Great Western Railway, which caused the decline of the canal as a commercial waterway, makes its way to and from London.
