Love War Tapestries
Description: The '60s were a wild time to be alive! The sexual revolution was in full swing, and a generation distrustful of the government formed a counter-culture the valued art, music, and free love over and above norms that would make them tools of the traditional capitalist culture. At the same time, not all was well in the world. The war in Vietnam raged on, to mixed sentiment at home. "Make Love, Not War" became a rallying phrase of the anti-establishment peace movement much to the chagrin of the older generation. Upon seeing young protestors take the slogan to the streets of California, Ronald Reagan famously remarked: "Those guys look like they can't make either of both." Ouch.
Description: In Norse mythology, Freyja (/ˈfreɪə/; Old Norse for "(the) Lady") is a goddess associated with love, beauty, fertility, sex, war, gold, and seiðr. Freyja is the owner of the necklace Brísingamen, rides a chariot pulled by two cats, is accompanied by the boar Hildisvíni, and possesses a cloak of falcon feathers.
Description: A surrealistic digital collage blending cultural nostalgia with stark symbolism. The Beatles play on, unshaken, while a nuclear blast blooms behind them — a striking contrast between harmony and chaos, innocence and destruction. This artwork invites viewers to question the dualities of our world: peace vs. power, unity vs. conflict, love vs. war. A bold, thought-provoking statement piece for collectors of surreal and retro-inspired art.
