There are numerous types of pancit, often named based on the noodles used, method of cooking, place of origin or the ingredients. The phrase “this is it, pancit” is an expression that’s often uttered when you need to finally face something you’ve been anticipating. The term “baybayin” comes from the Tagalog root word baybay, which means “to spell.” When the Spaniards arrived in the Philippine archipelago, they observed that most of the natives, not just the elite, could read and write. The script was used not only to record but also to write poetry, incantations, and letters. This shirt says “pogi’” the Filipino word for a handsome person.
Description: “Bahala na” (bah-hah-la nah) is a Filipino expression used to express an attitude of optimistic acceptance or fatalistic resignation in an uncertain or difficult situations. In the Philippines the fatalistic attitude is reflective of the Catholicism of the Filipino people, who entrust their fate in the hands of God. Many times bahala na is a saying that expresses a mentality that despite one's free will, one cannot do anything about the larger existing circumstances of their situation. Description: A rendition of our favorite cute Filipino fastfood bee throwing a spicy chicken. The copy “Masyado kang bida-bida” translates to “You are such an annoying show-off”. Bida-bida comes from bida "protagonist, main character" so bida-bida would mean something along the lines of trying to be the center of attention, usually obnoxiously. Description: “Putangina" is a term in Filipino that is considered vulgar and profane. It is a colloquial expression that combines the words "puta" (whore) and "ina" (mother). As such, it is an offensive and strong curse word in Tagalog, the official language of the Philippines. Sometimes, it can also be used as an expression in a casual conversation to express very strong emotions - whether it be surprise, anger, incredulity. It all depends on how it’s used.
