Description: The Black Panther Party fought against police brutality, promoted activism that organized, educated and fed their community while being mercilessly hunted by the FBI. While the Panthers fought against police brutality, they also invested heavily in community organizing and aid. Their free breakfast program fed thousands of hungry kids before school; they set up health clinics, child development centers and food pantries. They handled pest control, gave away coats and shoes in the winter, and started a free bus route to prisons for people to visit their incarcerated family members and loved ones.
Black Panther Party - Free Breakfast For The Youth Tapestry

Description: The Black Panther Party fought against police brutality, promoted activism that organized, educated and fed their community while being mercilessly hunted by the FBI. While this history might be new to many, it isn’t to the activists who have inherited many aspects of their work from the Panthers: their socialist ideals and focus on grassroots organizing. On a larger scale, some of the ideas that the Black Panthers espoused—including prison abolition—have begun making their way into mainstream discourse. UNITE!
Description: The federal government began toying with free breakfast for underprivileged children in 1966, but in 1969, there still wasn't free breakfast and kids were going to school hungry. In Oakland, the Black Panthers jumped into action, organizing their own free breakfast program. Formally called the Free Breakfast for School Children Program, the program expanded beyond breakfast to provide free groceries to those in need, utilizing the same donor network that got the breakfast program up and running. People's Free Food Program design comes from the posters used at the breakfast locations, on community free grocery bags, and the shirts many volunteers wore.
Description: A bold community support design featuring a powerful big cat holding a box of groceries with a heart symbol and the message People's Free Food Program. Perfect for food pantry volunteers, mutual aid supporters, community organizers, charity workers, social good advocates, and anyone who believes kindness should be loud, colorful, and shared.
Description: A bold vintage-inspired panther design featuring groceries, fresh produce, pantry goods, and strong community support energy. Great for food pantry volunteers, mutual aid supporters, community organizers, social justice advocates, grocery drive teams, and anyone who believes in helping people through food access, care, and solidarity.
