Soft fractal swirls in pastel rainbow colors spin into larger spirals in this mesmerizing design. Add a little boho touch and spruce up your trailer hitch for a little fun while you travel. Fractals are formed by repeating and rendering mathematical patterns into a continuous feedback loop. The visals resemble many organic systems in nature and spirituality. A commonly known fractal that illlustrates recursion, or the repitition of patterns, is the the Mandelbrot set. Fractals help us study and understand important scientific concepts, ranging from bacteria to brain waves.

Rainbow Waves This pattern is a fractal pattern that I created using a program called Frax Pro on my iPad. Fractals are never ending patterns based on mathematical equations. I'll be the first to admit I'm not a math whiz, but I'm amazed at how beautiful a math equation can be. Fractals can also be found in nature. Examples are the nautilus shell, snowflake patterns and even our galaxies. This pattern is based on the Mandelbrot equation. This particular fractal has a rainbow wave pattern, hence the title. This would look great as a metal or acrylic print or printed on items such as tote bags, throw pillows, and shower curtains. I also do custom commissions.
