Minehead is a beautiful coastal town situated on the south side of the Bristol Channel in Somerset, England, UK. Minehead takes its name from the North hill - MYNED - which is an old English word meaning a hill. There was a small port at Minehead by 1380, in 1420 Lady Margaret Luttrell gave money for improvements to be made and a jetty to be built.

Pulteney Bridge spans the River Avon in Bath, Somerset. The bridge was completed in 1774 and connected the city with the land of the Pulteney family. Designed by Robert Adam, it is unusual in that it has shops built in across it's full span.

Scraperboard (scratchboard) illustration of Glastonbury Tor, a hill in Somerset, UK, with a rich pagan and Christian history. The tower on the top is the remains of the 14th century church of St Michael. This place has been variously associated with King Arthur, Jesus, the Holy Grail and Celtic myths of an underworld. It inspired Blake's hymn 'Jerusalem'. The last Abbot of Glastonbury Abbey, Richard Whiting, was hung, drawn and quartered here along with two of his monks in 1539.

Brean Down, between Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea (Somerset, England) is a great place for 360 degree views of the Bristol Channel, the Somerset Levels, the Mendip and Quantock Hills and South Wales. This shot includes the islands of Steep Holm (left) and Flat Holm, with the South Wales coast on the horizon. The trees that survive life on Brean Down have to be hardy, and some grow almost horizontally, bowed by the prevailing westerly winds. Raveningham Hall Number of views as of 29th October 2018 = 1025. Great Western Railway locomotive number 6960 'Raveningham Hall' awaits its next task at Minehead station, end of the line on the West Somerset Railway (WSR). This locomotive (one of the Great Western's 'Hall Class' of engines) is named after a country estate and stately home in Norfolk. The 4-6-0 coal-fired Hall class engines were designed by Charles Collett and were used for mixed traffic operations between 1928 and 1965. Of the 259 built, Raveningham Hall is one of just seven preserved locos of its type. It was built in 1944 at the GWR's Swindon works and remained in service until 1964, when it was sold for scrap. East Brent is a small village located on the eastern edge of Brent Knoll, a hill that dominates the surrounding countryside.
