Sunset Kirkland Tapestries

At the end of several days of cloudy Pacific Northwest weather, the sun finally came out for a few minutes. It looked lovely in the fronds of this amazing willow tree at Juanita Beach Park in Kirkland, Washington. People are taking an evening stroll on the walking pier that overlooks Lake Washington. The lake and various puddles are glowing shades of orange, yellow, and pink. you can see a sligth grayish sillhouette of Seattle to the right of the frame.

During an amazing winter sunset, a keyboardist started playing various tunes on the shores of Lake Washington. This was the type of sunset where people stopped in their tracks to watch, except this jovial person who decided to dance on the Marina Park docks. Luckily, his footing was sure, so he didn't misstep or fall in the lake. This viewpoint is across the lake from Seattle, and you can see its skyine inthe upper left part of the image. This is an original photograph with digital painterly, textured-looking effects applied, but the image itself is flat and has not texture.

The sun sets along the docs as people stroll around or get ready to board the tour boat for the dinner tour. Time seems to stand still in this painterly interpretation of an original photo, taken on Lake Washington in the Pacific Northwest.

Marina Park is a great place for sunsets, and this one was especially golden. Seattle glowed across Lake Washington in shades of red and gold, profiling the silhouettes of the pier and lamps. A couple snuggled close to watch the amazing show. Other people strolled along the dock, as the lake took on the colors of the sky. The spring evening held onto the golden colors as long as it could, finally succumbing to the blue hour.

During the winter, the sun tracks very low in the Pacific Northwest, which yields beautiful sunsets over Lake Washington. Ducks dip and dive and create concentric eddies in the lake that separates Kirkland and Juanita from Seattle. Many wild birds flock to the lake to mate and migrate during the winter. They often mingle with cormorants on these former dock pilings to create beautiful wintry silhouettes.
