Before the other guys, there was TG&Y. Everything I owned came from there when I was a kid in the 70s and 80s.

Take a 16-bit stroll back in time to when all your friends had a Sega or SNES and you were the only person in your state to own a TurboGrafx-16. It was amazing, yet full of sadness. Oh, even the 16-bit claim was somewhat of a technicality.

The T.G. & Y Store chain was founded in 1935 in Oklahoma City and expanded to over 900 stores in 29 states, before going out of business in 2001. They were the forerunner of the dollar stores that are popular today.
