The Croatian medievel hill village of Motovun in cental Istria. The inner village is surrounded by walls dating back to the 13th century, and is sited on the ancient Roman city of Kastelijer.

*Digital Artwork using Krita 3.0* *When I was in Gulgong in NSW – I saw this old timer having a ‘durrie’ outside a pub that was across the street from the café where I was having lunch. I did a quick sketch of him as he stood there day dreaming. From that original sketch as a first draft I then got my pen tablet out and sketched this using Krita 3.0. Gulgong is a gold town and maybe the old digger was dreaming of that next big strike!*

*When we visited Tasmania, Richmond was a highlight of our journey to the Apple Isle. A town bursting with history I found plenty of subjects to paint both on the high street and down by the river. *Macrossan Morning - Macrossan Street in Ravenswood North Queensland is the location of these buildings. The shop in the foreground was built in 1901 and was a bookseller- tobacconist for many years. The larger shop is known as The Thorps Building, it was built in 1903. The Thorps building has been a mining agency which supplied Gold Miners with the tools of the trade. At one stage it was a hardware, at another time it was a tea room known as Thorps Goldfield Tearooms. Ravenswood was vital in the early development of North Queensland being a rich Goldtown just prior to gold being discovered in Charters Towers about 90km from Ravenswood. Charters Towers soon became the big Gold Town in the north which saved a young Queensland from going ...
