Majestic Boat is a nautical art print I created using an abstract watercolor technique. The technique creates an illusion of detail, but is really just sharp shapes of precise color. The setting is a harbor lined by a New England fishing village. All around the harbor are docks and moors for the many boats that call the harbor home. New England is infamous for its fishing industry and the towns that support it. The scene from the toll bridge at Whitchurch on Thames in Oxfordshire. The church of St Mary stands above the cottages which surround the old mill - no longer working but converted into flats. However, two large water wheels can be seen beneath the building, The church, originally built in Norman times underwent an extensive rebuilding programme during the Victorian period. Whitchurch is across the Thames and just north of the village of Pangbourne in Berkshire.

This red toadstool reminded me of the flower fairy stories I used to read as a child. I definitely think this fungi is one to be avoided if foraging. It shouts out 'Don't eat me!!' Leave it for the fairies village at the bottom of the garden.

A village sitting among the palm trees on the banks of the River Nile somewhere between Aswan and Luxor. The Nile has always been the lifeblood of Egypt as it passes through the Sahara Desert. The area immediately by the riverbanks is green and fertile, but just behind are the desert sands. Flooding has now been controlled by the nearby Aswan Dam which also provides electricity to the region. The image has an oil pastel finish - developed from my original photograph.

This picturesque village nestles in a dip of the North Wessex Downs, lying between Streatley (Berkshire) and Wantage (Oxfordshire), the nearest town being Didcot. Its maze of small streets and lanes are lined with both brick and half-timbered buildings. Several springs rise in the village feeding a small lake and in times past watercress was cultivated here.

Many villagers still make their living from the sea, so there are always small fishing boats in the sheltered harbour. Halki is a small yet very charming island in the Dodecanese that is situated opposite the west coast of Rhodes. Three bracketed JPGs converted to HDR in Photomatix Pro.

Eggesford is a parish in mid-Devon, without its own substantial village. It is served by Eggesford railway station on the Exeter to Barnstaple railway line, also known as the Tarka Line. There are several memorial monuments in the church, including two particularly fine ones of the Chichester family which include very high quality alabaster effigies.
