The war machines were an important part of the plan. The Hoarggs worked side-by-side with the villagers that flew in and out of the forest daily. After the first few days a tent city was erected as many of the workers felt they could better spend their time working rather than going back and forth each day. The tents began as a scattering the first day or so and now there are thousands of tents hidden in the forest. Catherine and Lucinda cackled, “I cast my final spell; and bring forth the korgoyle, from the pits of hell.” This was the moment of the prophesy. I signaled Cedric and a few of his comrades to do the prearranged task. They flew out onto the field with kerosene lamps and dropped them between me and the korgoyle that was sure to arrive. I wanted the korgoyle to focus on me and the lights would do it. It was much like an arrow pointing the way to the dinner—and I was it. The ground shook as though an earthquake has struck and the earth opened up. It was difficult to tell as it could best be described as musical mayhem; although they did it in perfect two-part harmony. We listened to several tunes and each one was funnier than the last. "Bravo, bravo!" Mr. Scott offered an applause for the effort that had him belly laughing.

Art by Nour Hassan and Duy Truong This is a scene from the "Wurtherington Diary." The creature said, "I am an opossum, sir and I am known as Zeke, far and wide." I offered my hand and he licked it. "No, I wish to make you my friend and if you shake my hand we will be friends." I showed him how to do it properly. I told myself that I must remember that Zeke was a mammal and not a human and would not have any understanding of human nature. It was not that easy to do, as up until yesterday, anyone who talked to me was a human. Now I find myself talking to a mouse, an octopus, and now an opossum. I reminded myself that Kira was a strange land and it was my duty to learn the customs if I was going to be of any help at all.

She hummed as she picked," La la la la, la la. I pick flowers for my mama." I could see she was as ugly as the rest, covered with hair like that. There was something human about her though, while she sang and gathered flowers. The others must have had a sudden change of heart. "Ahh!" They all sighed. "She's ugly and cute at the same time. One of us should go out there." "You are kidding?" "You go." "Not me." "I'm not going." "This was Tammy's idea" They all looked at me. YesI was the one who got us into this mess.

He loved the idea and within the hour I had him dressed in a handsome leather outfit with a large black belt. He stood before a mirror and admired himself while he held a bow and arrow. Alfred, Cedric, and Zeke hovered around him offering compliments. All of the Hoarggs will soon want to look like this!

"We have a young lady here with us," said George Washington. "Tammy, is it as simple as that?" I grabbed a scissors and I seized a piece of paper lying on the table and began snipping." It is nothing at all." I handed him a perfect five pointed star. Betsy handed him one that she had cut. The officers with Washington held back their grins as best they could. One said, "General Washington, you have been out maneuvered by all this. I would bet that even the mouse agrees."

"What is this magic contraption you show us?" wondered Captain Flynn. “Perhaps it is a compact with the devil of the deep blue sea." "No, no, Captain," Alfred assured the crew, "Tammy is a good sorceress and soon she will not only repair your sails...." "Yes?" "She will capture your heart before the Sun sets in the West."

"Thank you, Thomas Jefferson and good persons who have gathered to sign this historic document. I can stand here as a humble ten-year-old child and tell you that this may very well be the most important moment in the birth of a new nation. The Wurtherington Diary: Tammy and the Declaration of Independence Art by Duy Truong and Nour Hassan Paul Revere was surprised that my associates were so talkative but he got over it as the situation was desperate and the fate of the entire revolution was at stake. He gave it a moment's thought and said, “Tammy, you will ride with me.” I put Alfred on my shoulder and hopped up on the horse and held on to Paul Revere. “Hold on tight, little one. This is going to be some ride!”

July 14, 1774 Dear Diary, Lucinda gave me a jeweled necklace that gave us the power to travel back in time and sent all of us to London to correct the space-time continuum as best we could. She said that she could watch over us with her crystal and we could talk to each other as long as I wore the necklace. Alfred could time travel, but only as a mouse. He said he found it humiliating to be reduced to such small stature. He grumbled about it from time to time. Cedric and Zeke were delighted that they could be at my side while we tweaked with history.

The Wurtherington Diary: Tammy and the Declaration of Independence Art by Duy Truong "Hear, Hear!" With that we all pushed through the door and climbed the staircase that led to the Liberty Bell. Everyone wondered who should ring it. Many wanted me to ring it and I agreed only if John Hancock would do it with me. We all agreed that John Hancock represented the entire body and it should be him. We shared the rope and rang the bell. It was crisp and clear. "Let freedom ring!" they shouted. The bell, as we had anticipated, gained a crack in its side and to this day it stands as a symbol of freedom for all to see.

Wurtherington, Diary, art by Duy Truong. This is our second bedtime scene and Duy Truong has created another marvelous piece of art that is simply stunning. In this scene, the reader can see that Polly, the loveable vulture, has joined the group. Duy has gone all out with this drawing (as she always does) and has all the little touches that make this painting magical. It is bedtime now. I have Zeke and Cedric tucked in doll-size beds in opposite corners of the room. I discovered that they tend to keep each other awake when they are too close together. Tammy and the California Gold Rush: Art by Duy Truong. We decided to do a test run and soon we were all flying around Kira. We found ourselves over Sakuna, the home of the Kakuna elves. I could see they were happy to see us flying overhead and decided to land in the center of the village. Chief Wanakuka and his wife, Lanacua ran down the balcony to greet us. They were amazed to see all of us flying upon Polly. She was a hit among the Kakuna and a large crowd gathered to admire her. Polly, of course, loved every minute of it. Lanacua said, "You must stay and have a luncheon with us." Zeke and Cedric were hungry ( they loved to eat all the time) and we agreed to stay. Picnic tables were set in the middle of the square and we found oursel...

Wurtherington, Diary, art by Tenda Spencer Fantasy I said, "Open Sesame!" as we flew out of the cave of Ali Baba and toward the palace. We raced across the desert landscape that soon turned to emerald green as we passed over an oasis lush with bubbling springs and leafy palms. Tall minarets sprouted like grass over a splendid city that sprawled endlessly toward the horizon. We quickly found the palace that stood majestically near the center. Mina pointed the way to a balcony high up near the peak. We landed on a cool stone-floored foyer with bubbling fountains, metal tables, and scarlet parasols.

Tammy Meets Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. A wave of water swept over us. Seconds later we found ourselves settled in the palace garden in Capira where apple blossom drifted lazily in a cool autumn breeze.
