Description: D. G. Yuengling & Son, established in 1829, is the oldest operating brewing company in the United States. In 2018, by volume of sales, it was the largest craft brewery, sixth largest overall brewery and largest wholly American-owned brewery in the United States. Its headquarters are in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. In 2015, Yuengling produced about 2.9 million barrels, operating two Pennsylvania facilities and a brewery in Tampa, Florida.
Description: Detroit native Louis Griesinger apprenticed at the Christian Moerlein Brewing Company in Cincinnati and soon found that he not only had a knack for making beer, but genuinely enjoyed it. Wanting to strike out on his own, Griesinger relocated to Windsor, Ontario in 1885 where he founded the British-American Brewing Co., one of the city's earliest breweries. His first completed batch was a pale lager, but as cream ales were becoming popular at the time, he called his lager 'Cincinnati Cream.' His first six barrels were well received, and before long, Cincinnati Cream was a local favorite. Griesinger was soon exporting to America, and expanded his brewery to encompass four city blocks producing 5,000,000 gallons annually by the mid-'50.
Description: Spoetzl Brewery is a brewery located in Shiner, Texas, U.S. It produces a diverse line of Shiner Beers, including their flagship Shiner Bock, a dark lager that is now distributed countrywide. The brewery is owned by the Gambrinus Company, a family-owned company based in San Antonio, which also owns Trumer Brewery in Berkeley, California. The Spoetzl Brewery started in 1909. It was originally named "The Shiner Brewing Association," (SBA) and was founded by German and Czech immigrants who had settled around the central Texas town of Shiner. Unable to find the type of beer they had known in their home countries, they decided to brew their own. It is the oldest independent brewery in Texas and one of the oldest independent breweries in the U.S.

Description: With a name giving a nod to the American flag, it seems appropriate that Red White & Blue Beer (RWB) was first introduced in 1899, just in time for the 4th of July weekend. Early ad campaigns extolled the beer’s mellow taste, drinkability, and low price point, the one that got plenty of mileage out of their “honest beer for an honest price” slogan. The patriotic themed cans and rock bottom price point made RWB a hit right out the gate, and while prohibition briefly killed the brew in 1920, it was resurrected with the 1933 repeal, and didn't miss a beat. RWB picked up where they left off and continued on to become a favorite working man's beer in the '50s and '60s, and continued to be brewed well into the '90s before finally fading away.
Description: Port Huron's Lakeside Brewing Co. was only around from 1936 to 1937, but its facility on Bard Street dated all the way back to 1875, when the company was founded under its proprietor's name, Charles Samberg. This is the label for American Bud produced by Lakeside Brewing Company. The State of Michigan required makers of beer and wine to register labels of alcoholic products with the Commerce Commission. While this practice was discontinued in the 1950's, the Archives maintains the historic collection of Michigan-made brews from the early to mid-twentieth century.
