Spoetzl Brewery is a brewery located in Shiner, Texas, U.S. It produces a diverse line of Shiner Beers, including their flagship Shiner Bock, a dark lager that is now distributed countrywide. The brewery is owned by the Gambrinus Company, a family-owned company based in San Antonio, which also owns Trumer Brewery in Berkeley, California. The Spoetzl Brewery started in 1909. It was originally named "The Shiner Brewing Association," (SBA) and was founded by German and Czech immigrants who had settled around the central Texas town of Shiner. Unable to find the type of beer they had known in their home countries, they decided to brew their own. It is the oldest independent brewery in Texas and one of the oldest independent breweries in the U.S.

Defunct - Extra Dry Rheingold - Distressed Art

Rheingold Brewery was a New York state brewery which sold Rheingold Beer from 1883, holding 35 percent of the state's beer market at its peak. The company was sold by the founding Jewish American Liebmann family in 1963. According to The New York Times, "Rheingold Beer was once a top New York brew guzzled regularly by a loyal cadre of workingmen who would just as soon have eaten nails as drink another beer maker's suds." In 1966 it introduced Gablinger's Beer, one of the first reduced calorie beers, which was brewed using a process originated by chemist Dr. Hersch Gablinger of Basel, Switzerland.

Pabst Blue Ribbon, commonly abbreviated PBR, is an American lager beer sold by Pabst Brewing Company, established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1844 and currently based in San Antonio. Originally called Best Select, and then Pabst Select, the current name comes from the blue ribbons tied around the bottle’s neck between 1882 and 1916.

Port Huron's Lakeside Brewing Co. was only around from 1936 to 1937, but its facility on Bard Street dated all the way back to 1875, when the company was founded under its proprietor's name, Charles Samberg. This is the label for American Bud produced by Lakeside Brewing Company. The State of Michigan required makers of beer and wine to register labels of alcoholic products with the Commerce Commission. While this practice was discontinued in the 1950's, the Archives maintains the historic collection of Michigan-made brews from the early to mid-twentieth century.

With a name giving a nod to the American flag, it seems appropriate that Red White & Blue Beer (RWB) was first introduced in 1899, just in time for the 4th of July weekend. Early ad campaigns extolled the beer’s mellow taste, drinkability, and low price point, the one that got plenty of mileage out of their “honest beer for an honest price” slogan. The patriotic themed cans and rock bottom price point made RWB a hit right out the gate, and while prohibition briefly killed the brew in 1920, it was resurrected with the 1933 repeal, and didn't miss a beat. RWB picked up where they left off and continued on to become a favorite working man's beer in the '50s and '60s, and continued to be brewed well into the '90s before finally fading away.
