Description: I decided to paint a watercolour of my handsome, black kitten Valentine. Many paintings of cats are too sentimental and I wanted to produce something different. I arranged two flower pots and an amphora in a part of my garden where there was an interesting contrast of light and shade. I put Valentine on the ground in front of the pots and he stayed still just long enough for me to capture his profile.
