Anemonefish Pillows

This underwater photography shows an anemonefish (Amphiprion polymnus, Saddleback clownfish), that is very curious and asks the photographer Ute Niemann for a portrait. I like it very much to be able to photograph through the pupil of the fish - and of course, especially when they come so close to me! I took this underwatermotive in Raja Ampat in front of the Island Fam | West Papua | Indonesia.

I have taken this underwater motive during a dive in the beautiful underwaterworld of Raja Ampat | West Papua | Indonesia.

I first sketched this cute clownfish as part of an August drawing challenge on Instagram about animals affected by climate change. The kingfisher was the prompt for day 17. I liked it so much I drew it up properly afterwards and here it is :)

Drawn using one of my own photographs as reference, I painted the colour areas in watercolour, the background ink black ink and then added some details to the anemone with a black marker pen. Clownfish are fish species found in many oceans across the world. They come in a variety of colours but the red and white striped anemonefish as seen here are the most well known.

At night and in high current Anemone fold up to protect their tentacles. This image was captured during a late afternoon dive in very high current. We ducked down low behind coral heads to keep from being pushed out into the open ocean. Andaman Sea Thiland

Love the rustic colours and textures generated here. 'Nemo's World is losing colour!' Some sea anemones are expelling algae due to Global Warming...some scientist's don't believe it ~ most do...however, whether 'real or not' ~ we must mitigate for it's occurrence. Lets not nit-pick...some say to-mato some say tomato!!!

Clownfish or anemonefish are fishes from the subfamily Amphiprioninae in the family Pomacentridae. Thirty species are recognized: one in the genus Premnas, while the remaining are in the genus Amphiprion.

Clownfishes are also called anemonefishes because they live among the tentacles of stinging anemones. To do this, clownfish put down a layer of mucus that keeps the anemones from stinging them.

What a clown! Just kidding, this ocean creature is a clownfish like in the movies! Zoologists and aquarists both want this design just as they want to see the coral reefs. Just wait and sea!
