Description: Tammy Faye Bakker stood out as a compassionate voice for the LGBTQ community during a time of widespread hostility from religious figures. In 1985, she interviewed Steve Pieters, a gay minister with AIDS, responding with empathy, tears, and a message of love rather than judgment—an approach that sharply contrasted the era’s rhetoric. Her openness and humanity earned lasting respect within the LGBTQ community, where she came to be seen as an unlikely ally. This design draws inspiration from her 1985 record Don’t Give Up!, which featured the uplifting title track “Don’t Give Up (On The Brink Of A Miracle).”
