I so loved designing these poppies!

This is design was taken by cutting out and piecing 3 of my artworks together (poppies and the butterfly) on top of one of my gold spiral backgrounds. Poppies, poppies and more poppies!

My mom grew these poppies in her garden (she's amazing) & she brought a bunch of them to welcome us to our new home. Even though I was supposed to be unpacking boxes, and not playing with my camera, the light in my new kitchen, these poppies... I couldn't resist. I have hardly done anything to this image, it is practically SOOTC, they really were this colour, they really were this lovely. : )

Another fun pattern with Icelandic Flora! Here poppies and various colour, and also sometimes gigantic! I loved photographing them this summer, and draw my own version of them!

Canon Rebel T3i. Iceland Poppies are short-lived perennials, native to subpolar regions of northern Europe and North America, that usually self-seed and come back year after year. Plants form a low tuft of light green leaves, bearing large, satiny, lightly fragrant flowers on hairy stems. The bowl-shaped flowers last for weeks on end, in a range of shades including cream, yellow, salmon, orange, pink and red. Thank you for looking at my Photography!!! Cynthia

Before coming to Iceland I only knew red poppies, but hey! So many hues over here! I find this pattern delicate and intense at the same time, perfect to give warmth.
