Why can't you be like the others?

This is my tribute to the photography of Russell Munson and the genius of Richard Bach, put together to produce the fable of Jonathan Livingston Seagull. I read the book when I was about ten years old and fell in love with the story of a seagull who wanted to be the best he could be at flying. The images in the book are a perfect match for the story. I still have my copy of the book and want to get my children to read it one day.

When I was a kid I read Johnathon Livingston Seagull one morning when I woke up early while staying over at my aunt's house. After that, seagull shapes started appearing everywhere. On water towers in Korea. On the side of ferry boats in New Zealand. Everywhere. For me this symbol of a bird now reminds me of travel, freedom, and independence.
