Liverpool Albert Dock at night with the famous amphibious craft in the foreground. The yellow duckmarine craft are WW2 landing craft converted for tourist sightseeing trips across the water and around the city. This came to an end after one sunk in 2013 and the company has never regained its licence to operate them - will make an interesting print and story.

There has been lots going on again this weekend with the arrival of many tall ships and naval vessels for the river festival. For once the sun was shining and it was glorious on the waterfront.

Mersey Ferry Snowdrop is a dazzling addition to the waterfront these days as she busies up and down the river mersey :)

This old vintage tram has suddenly appeared in the Albert Dock, I think it sells drinks. There seem to be a lot of these old vehicles about these days which have been given a new lease of life. It adds a colourful splash to the waterfront anyway, which I've enhanced with Topaz effects.

The Albert Dock is a complex of dock buildings and warehouses in Liverpool, England. Designed by Jesse Hartley and Philip Hardwick, it was opened in 1846, and was the first structure in Britain to be built from cast iron, brick and stone, with no structural wood. As a result, it was the first non-combustible warehouse system in the world.

I thought a shot of the Liver building was long overdue :) It looked especially beautiful this morning in the spring sunshine.

These great vintage ice cream vans are parked up for the winter near the Albert Dock in Liverpool. They still add a lovely splash of colour though:)

The final coat of paint has been applied to a new version of a World War I ‘dazzle ship’ on the Liverpool waterfront. The dazzle technique was used in WWI to confuse enemy ships and U-boats as to the manoeuvres of Allied vessels. It was great to be able to walk down and see her today as part of the Mersey River Festival and WW1 commemorations taking place on the waterfront. The site encompasses a trio of landmarks, built on the site of the former George's Dock and referred to since at least 1998 as "The Three Graces ". They are the Royal Liver Building, Cunard Building and Port of Liverpool Building.
