Phoenix Red Pillows

A quick design.

This unique yin yang design by artist Jeff Bartels features a traditional phoenix on one side and a Chinese dragon on the other. The phoenix curves around the left side of the pattern with its wings and tail flowing back behind its body. The serpent snakes around the right side of the tear drop with its head curling back towards the center of the design. This beautiful design is a unique example of this ancient symbol for the balance of nature.

The legend of the phoenix. A mythical bird that lives for an eternity in cycles of 500 to 1000 years, ending every life cycle by igniting in flames and turning to ash, only to be reborn from the very ashes itself. It's rebirth as a stronger and more powerful entity. Stories of the phoenix have been told as far back as ancient Egyptian times. This is a very personal piece. It's one that I have needed to create for a long time. It's also one that I didn't know how to create, or even if I would be able to.
