This beautiful Art Deco Building dates from 1935 and is named after the 9th Earl De La Warr, Mayor of Bexhill and the instigator of a competition to design this public building. In 1986 it was designated a Grade 1 listed building status ensuring its preservation as an iconic structure of the period.

Jeepneys were originally made from U.S. military jeeps left over from World War II.
