Description: A drawing made in response to “I want! I want!” by the Visionary poet and artist William Blake. A small engraving, smaller than a playing card, which illustrates an early fantasy of lunar travel. The tiny figure who announces their desire to get to the moon with a child’s cry, “I want! I want!”, has a similarly child-like solution when it comes to transport: a really big ladder.
Description: The Artemis program is a US government-funded human spaceflight program that has the goal of landing "the first woman and the next man" on the Moon, specifically at the lunar south pole region by 2024. The program is carried out predominantly by NASA, U.S. commercial spaceflight companies contracted by NASA, and international partners. NASA is leading the program, but expects international partnerships to play a key role in advancing Artemis as the next step towards the long-term goal of establishing a sustainable presence on the Moon, laying the foundation for private companies to build a lunar economy, and eventually sending humans to Mars.
