Description: This was done to try and convey the feeling of being trapped within your home due to the onset of old age. Many elderly people must look outside their windows and yearn for the freedom to walk out into the fresh air and sunshine.

Description: Portencross is situated West of West Kilbride on the West coast of Scotland. There are some houses, an old harbour and a castle which is currently being restored. It's a lovely spot and I've taken lots of good reference photographs and done a fair number of sketches for future paintings. Well worth a visit.

Description: I love this type of subject and enjoyed getting the detail and textures of the bricks and rendering. The sign used to advertise a Public House called 'The Bowler's Tavern'. The sign really has seen better days.

Description: Watercolour From references I took of Burn Braes in Biggar, Lanarkshire. I really loved the wonky fence and the fact that the roof slates were falling off the roof. The roof has long since been repaired (as has the fence).

Description: From references I took whilst visiting the lovely little town of Pittenween up on the East Coast of Scotland. I wasn't expecting the snow, but got some great images to work from. So it was an unexpected bonus.

Description: This was a watercolour from references I took at The Sanctuary of Aphrodite in Cyprus. I just love the stonework and the reflections of light on the cobbles. Great fun to paint.
