Description: Not what you would usually associate with a canal This is 'Royal Iris of The Mersey' one of two Mersey Ferries making the return journey from Salford Quays, down the Manchester Ship Canal. Picture taken at the point where the canal joins the River Mersey entering in to the Mersey Estuary. Royal Iris was built in 1959 and is owned by Merseytravel and operated by Mersey Ferries.
