Medusa, an ancient being with a head full of snakes, capable of turning any living creature into stone when they look upon her face. The Medusa's head was used as a gorgoneion in ancient times, a decoration on shields and armours for protection.
I drew the Medusa with her eyes wide and staring down on her victims, while being expressionless like a statue herself. The sword was placed below her head, reflecting Perseus eventually killed her by severing her head.
