I have started a series of prints based on the classic sci fi novel The War Of The Worlds by HG Wells (no relation!)
This one depicts the Martians leaving Mars in cylinders and heading towards Earth. HG Wells describes the cylinders as just plain cylidrical shapes but I have taken a little artistic liberty and made them a littlemore interesting by making them transparent in parts.
This is the 2nd in the series of prints based on HG Wells' sci fi novel The War Of The Worlds
The first Martian cylinder has landed on Earth at a place called Horsell Common (actually exists)
The dude in the foreground is me, acting the part of Ogilvy the astronomer who comes to the Common when he hears about the cylinder opening up
This is the last in the series of prints I am desiging based on the classic sci fi book The War Of The Worlds.
It's slightly out of sequence as I have one more image to complete which is production right now.
So the story so far:
The Journalist has returned to a war torn London. The city lies in ruin after the Martian attack. As he wanders through the desolate streets he hears the mournful cry of a fighting machine. He resolves to give himself to the Martians as he believes that he is the last man alive. He finds the fighting machine but notices that birds are circling the hood and some are pecking at fleshy shards that hang out of it. He realizes that the Martian inside is dead. Killed by the one thing to which the had no defence -...

The Journalist meets up with the Artillery Man from earlier in the story, only to find the man has gone insane. He believes that Man can live again underground in the sewers. He shows the Journalist the extent of his digging and the Journalist realizes there is gulf between the Artillery Man's dream and his power to get the job.
The Journalist leaves him to his dreams.
This image is a depiction of that dream

3rd in the series The War Of The Worlds.
During the course of the story, the Journalist (central narrative character) meets a young Artilleryman and they travel to London together. They come across the Martians inside huge fighting machines battling against the inferior human forces.
This image, a combination of digital painting and photomanipulation, tries to depict this

The Thunderchild has sank, beaten by the fighting machines. But the steamer, with the Journalist's fiancé on board, is safe. But it would appear that the Martian's are about to take over planet Earth.
Thunderbirds was a British TV series from the 1960's and enjoyed by kids old and new, all over the world for decades to follow. In tribute to an iconic TV show that I personally watched as a child, I created a short series of images using Blender 3D software.
