It's a crucial river because of its cultural relevance, and it supports many people and considerable biodiversity, but it is in trouble. Urbanization and industrialization is closing in around the river leading to extreme pollution and contamination. With hard work and determination much like what is needed to be on a world class swim team, we will all be able to tread through the waters of the Ganges River.
