Community is what has kept Woodhaven alive and thriving throughout the decades with people of diverse ages, backgrounds and cultures coming together to create our exciting vibrant neighborhood as they support local businesses. They are the lifeblood of Woodhaven. I depicted the people shopping along the avenue without faces that way the viewers of this piece can imagine themselves as one of the people.

Description: A tsunami wave churns within the borough of Queens NY from the libraries to bring a flood of historical change making ripples in the ocean of freedom ready to unleash the power of our Queens community to rise and break the stark divide that has been imposed upon our beloved books. How was this wave formed? It all started with a single drop in the ocean that caused a ripple effect as we continued to gather together in the name of freeing the books that have been labeled as outcasts within our society. We used our voices to band together to amplify our message of reporting censorship of the books that have been buried for so long in the shadows and outskirts of society.
