Description: At around 9 p.m. on the evening of Dec. 29, 1980, Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum, and Vickie's 7 year-old grandson Colby Landrum were driving home to Dayton, Texas not too far from Houston’s Intercontinental Airport. They witnessed a large light in the sky above the trees. As they drove, they noticed the light getting brighter and closer, and claimed the light was coming from a diamond- shaped object hovering above the trees. At the base of the object,a flame was emitting according to the witnesses. A few minutes later on the winding roads, they saw what they believed to be the same light as before, but thought it was now much closer and brighter.
Description: Caption: In 1947, amateur pilot Kenneth Arnold was flying over Washington’s Cascades mountain range when he saw a “tremendously bright flash.” Then, another nine flashes in rapid succession appeared. Arnold described their strange manner of flight as "like speed boats on rough water." News of Arnold’s sighting spread quickly, and the press latched on to Arnold's description, leading to the birth of the phrase "flying saucer." Arnold’s report is often credited as sparking a wave of UAP sightings over the following few months. However, according to the Project Blue Book files, the busiest month for sightings in 1947 was June. Across the country, people were convinced they had seen UAPs.
