Description: Freebird and Sweet Home Alabama are the bog hitters that tend to get the cheers ringing out loudest, but for many Skynyrd fans (especially us) it is Simple Man that gives the biggest slice of what the band were all about. Pure Southern Rock N Roll at it's finest. Lynyrd Skynyrd's début, might not be totally perfect, but hell, it's dam close and when my day comes the first thing I'm doing is looking out RVZ and knocking back a bottle of whiskey with the man.

I'd been telling people for years that Kiss would save the world... and then at the end of Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, they did - albeit with what's hardly considered their finest tune. Anyway, that's beside the point. With the help of Kiss, a couple of their lovely 15th Century fiancees and the mighty George Calin, William S Preston esq and Ted Theodore Logan in their band, Wyld Stallyns battle the Grim Reaper and bring peace and harmony to the world. Description: When The Big Man passed, along with THE iconic line in Tenth Avenue Freeze Out, it was Jungleland that stood proudest as a testament to what he brought to E Street. When his nephew Jake stepped into the spotlight to play THAT solo there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Even writing this now I'm welling up as Bruce sings of lonely-hearted lovers struggling in dark corners before Clarence steps forward. So of all the Springsteen inspired I've designed, I think this is my favourite before we've sold unit one.
Description: The 80s and early 90s produced some seriously stupid action movies and on the surface of it, Point Break should be amongst the worst. Surfers that rob banks? Keanu Reeves? Gary Busey? Every odd couple buddy cop movie cliche complete with shouty boss? But somehow, and I'm really not sure how. Point Break elevates itself way beyond it's contemporaries. Much of the credit goes to Kathryn Bigelow direction, who makes embraces the countless plot holes to make an insanely enjoyable film that made us all want to learn to surf

One such case is when talking about Phil Lynott - a man for whom those words really do fit. Think I am overstating it? Just go and listen to Live and Dangerous, and then ask yourself why you bother owning any other records... As for T-shirts, shouldn't everyone own a Thin Lizzy T-shirt?
Description: "Put A Little More Irish In You" There was such a charm to Phil Lynott, a charm that few other rock stars manage to pull off. Maybe it was the twinkle in the eye that seems genetic for so many Irishmen, of just that while God was bestowing gifts of musicianship, vocal ability, song writing, style and sheer presence upon Phil Lynott, he thought he may as well go the whole hog and create one of the most complete rock stars in history. I for one will wear this tribute to Phil Lynott T-shirt with pride.
Description: It is easy to forget just how broad Mark Knopflers reach in music over the last 30 years is. Mention his name and horrid images of day-glo headbands and one of the most defining albums of the 80s always spring to mind. But without that and the whole MTV association, Mark Knopfler would more readily be heralded as one of Britains finest guitarists. Dire Straits first two albums are pop masterpieces, while since the bands split, the breadth of his solo work is mind blowing. Cool, he may never be, but brilliant he most certainly is. Description: Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and Pearl Jam led the way (Mother Love Bone would surely have joined them had it not been for Andrew Wood's early demise) and While the "grunge" movement of early 90s Seattle passed pretty quickly (thankfully as too did the fashion side of things), it's legacy is considerably more enduring. The classic albums of the genre also stand up remarkably well today - none more so than Pearl Jam's debut, where we take inspiration for this Pearl Jam design.
Description: There are also sorts of conventions in rock n roll song writing. One of the main ones is that you write upbeat songs about exciting things and downbeat songs about sad things. It takes a pretty special songwriter to invert the two and Bruce would do the same years later with Born in the USA. but he perfected it here by writing about the thrills of street racing cars and making it so low key that you'd think one of those street racers had just run over his dog. But that's part of the Springsteen genius, that he can pick out themes that others simply can't see. Only in Bruce's hands could the tragedy of the hero and his friend Sonny racing in the street as it's all they know.
Description: What a massively under appreciated song writer Warren Zevon was. A man taken from us far too early, but leaving a legacy of unique work that so many aspects of the human condition with a warmth and humour that few others could touch. Take Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner (and the rest of the sensational Excitable Boy album) what sort of genius mind takes a topic like the Biafran/Congolese wars of the late 60s and delivers a song of pathos, humour and brutality, yet never trivialises his hero, Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner. Respect to Warren Zevon, the man was a genius.
Description: Regardless of how much Don't Stop Me gets played, it is difficult to ever tire of it or ever stop smiling when it comes on. To me, it just sums up the joyous frontman persona of Freddie Mercury. travelling at the speed of light at 200 degrees, like an atom bomb, a racing car... it all just sums up Freddie Mercury as the perfect showman giving it his all every time he went near a microphone. So naturally for this Queen inspired T-shirt design we re-imagined Freddie at unstoppable superhero, Mr Fahrenheit.
Description: Legend has it that when Keef was up in front of the beak on drugs charges, he called his doctor as a witness to confirm that even though the amount of Class As that the police confiscated was enough to keep your average touring funk band in orbit for at least a year, and therefore was enough to put him away on trafficking charges, it was in fact just a basic couple of days personal use stash for the legendary guitarist. Rumours that he has his blood changed may be exaggerated, but it is a great story nevertheless - so if you want a Keith Richards T-shirt, why not get one that celebrates what a chemical legend the man was. Description: The debate over the location of the Dino's Bar & Grill has rattled on for years. Phil Lynott always avoided giving it a location, saying the song was about guys anywhere in the world going out for a weekend pint and a fight. Years after Phil's death Scott Gorham said Dinos was named after Dean Martin's Sunset Strip joint of the same name. But Gorham was Californian so would most likely think in terms of LA; also Martin's place was certainly not somewhere that "blood would spill" and most importantly it wasn't written by Scott. We preferred Phil's vision, so went for Dublin so as to link the design back to the original Thin Lizzy inspiration.
Description: While many films over complicate things with too many ideas and trying to be too clever, the genius of Ridley Scott's Alien is in it's simplicity. It transcends it's surface veneer of being a sci-fi movie by being a near perfect example of an old school haunted house film. Throw in Sigourney Weaver as Ripley, the most kick ass, female action heroes ever to appear on screen; iconic set pieces, a genuinely scary monster and you have a bone fide classic that will be tough to top. In fact, I think I'm going to watch it tonight with the lights off and some instant noodles...
