Description: A digital drawing in Procreate of a quaker parrot in flight. The bird is green with grey and blue. It has both wings wide, forming an almost horizontal line. Its long tail and head create a kind of cross. The bird is realistically drawn with some drawing elements such as contouring with a chalk brush, which give the whole thing something playful. This drawing was made using a photo as an example. The photo I take is of my parakeet Pixie who was my pet. The photo was unfortunately out of focus but I really liked the pose. This way, I still made a nice work of art out of it.
Description: A drawing made in Procreate of a flying kingfisher. The kingfisher is a striking sight with its bright blue back and bright orange belly. They can often be found near the water, where they are looking for food. They eat fish but also insects. A hunting kingfisher often sits on a branch near the water as in the drawing. I think kingfishers are fantastic birds. So beautiful in colour and so cute and small. With their big bright eyes, they can look so sweet. Spotting one always makes me happy.
Description: A digital drawing of a flying Fischer's lovebird. De colorful bird is drawn realisticly. You see the bird from his side but both wings are visible. Both wings are spread out. The bird is green and red with yellow and orange. Around the bird there is a sketchy line to make te art more playful.
Description: A digital drawing of a bluetit hanging almost upside down from a twig. The bird looks at you with one eye. The twig is lightly drawn and has leaves in the shape of feathers and white and pink flowers. The bird is drawn is a smooth style and has a layer of sketchy pencil strokes that give the whole thing a drawing-like impression. The whole is a sweet and spring-like picture.
Description: A drawing of a Common firecrest. The little bird sits on a diagonal branch with green leaves. You can see the bird a little from above so you can see its back well. The scene was drawn in Pro create, a digital drawing programme. The firecrest grows to 9 to 10 cm and is slightly larger than the closely related goldcrest, which is the smallest European bird species. The fire gold crest is very similar to the goldcrest. Notable differences are the white eye stripe and a different sound. Its plumage has a grey-green upper surface, a light grey underside and a black and whit
Description: A digitally coloured drawing in India ink of a wren. The bird sits on a branch with some green leaves. The background consists of a soft collection of downy feathers in soft blue shades. This is very subtly visible. He holds his tail jauntily in the air. The bird looks to the right and you can see it from the side. The colouring was later done digitally. There is also a non-coloured version of this bird in my work. I thought a colour version would be a nice addition to my gallery. The wren is a small, insectivorous bird with a remarkably loud song. It is a small stocky, sandy-brown bird of almost ten centimetres with a swooped tail. Its song is clear, with vibrating sharp trills. Its body length is 9 to 10 cm. They stand out mainly because
Description: A water-based oil painting of a funny and cute-looking owl. It is a light brown bird with big orange eyes. The owl's eyes are a little uneven which makes him look extra funny and sweet. It also looks a bit startled with its round eyes. It is not really an existing owl species but a fantasy owl. He does have "ears" like a long-eared owl has them.
Description: A watercolour drawing of an hawfinch . The bird is depicted sitting on a thin branch with green leaf buds. Behind the bird is a large splash spot that is tinted blue to show off the bird beautifully. The bird itself is reddish brown which contrasts with the blue. You can see the bird from the side and it is looking to the left. This finch is a large bird, especially its large beak. As this species is rather shy and often stays at the top of trees, you don't see it very often.
Description: A washed ink drawing of a raven. The bird is sitting on a small stump. The bird looks to the left and his belly is to the right, he looks back. The raven sits quietly and looks at you kindly. Ravens are very intelligent birds. The raven is the largest bird in the crow family. In mythology, ravens often fulfill an important role, as messengers of gods, but also as symbols of mischief. In Christianity, it is a symbol of sin in contrast to the white dove which embodies pure goodness.
