Description: An acrylic painting of a red Cardinal. This is the bird that is common in America and has a red plumage. Because of this color, the birds have been given the name Cardinal. As a joke and reference to its name, this little bird wears a mitre, as a red cardinal might. The bird is portrayed, he really seems to be posing for this image and looks proudly at the viewer.
Description: A watercolor drawing of a robin flying. The bird is flying in the air. He has both wings up. I think robins are very cute little birds with their red breasts and big dark eyes. They are also always quite cheeky and sometimes you can get quite close to them, they are not particularly fearful despite their size.
Description: A watercolor drawing of a pileated woodpecker. The bird is depicted hanging vertically against a tree, as you often see this species of bird doing. You can see the bird from the side which makes its profile stand out nicely. This is a male bird, which can be seen by the lower stripe on its head which is red.
Description: A watercolor drawing of a tufted titmouse. It hangs on a twig that rises vertically. The twig has side branches and leaves and buds. The little bird hangs conveniently on the branch and looks back. He turns his head in such a way that an interesting pose has been created. Partly because of its jaunty crest it is a very cute little bird to see.
Description: A rough drawing with India ink in wet technique of a black cat. Because of the very wet technique the drawing is very spontaneous. The image is almost an abstract image, though you see very clearly a black cat seen on his back. His tail is perkily raised to the left of the cat.
Description: A watercolor drawing of a swimming Great Crested grebe carrying two chicks on her back. You see the water bird on her belly and she holds her head so that you can see the side of it. She keeps her wings a little wide so that her children are comfortable. Very cute springtime picture. I find this a very touching image. She also looks proudly at the viewer but also wary. The reflection in the water was created digitally.
Description: A watercolor drawing of a Black throated bushtit. He looks a bit like a rascal because of the black mask. The bird hangs acrobatically from a twig that sticks up almost straight. Its tail sticks up jauntily. The bird can be seen from the side, looking to the left. Behind the bird a large watercolor spot in soft green.
Description: A watercolor drawing of a jaunty funny ostrich. Fineliners were also used for the details. It is a portrait of his head and you can see his neck and a small part of his body. The bird looks right at you from the front and his beak seems to be smiling at the viewer. He has beautiful large brown/amber eyes with some kind of eyelashes. This bird is truly very cute.
Description: A watercolor illustration of a kookaburra. This is a species of kingfisher found in Australia. This bird is also called the laughing bird because its call resembles human laughter. With this call he marks his territory. You see the bird from the side and he is sitting on a branch that has some side branches and green leaves. He looks to the right. On his wing you can see blue spots.
Description: A watercolor drawing of a head of a young woman, She has long hair that turns into drippings. You can see the profile of her face and her head is surrounded by her hair. She looks somber and introverted. By using a lot of watercolor, gravity has caused the paint to bleed, creating a spontaneous effect.Only shades of gray have been used.
Description: A watercolor drawing of a white-faced owl. The small bird of prey is sitting on a sawn-off log. He turns his head so that you can see his face clearly, his body can be seen from the side. He has bright orange eyes. Because the bird itself is in shades of gray, it creates a beautiful graphic image.
Description: A watercolor drawing of a red avadavat. It is a male bird that is red with brown. The little bird has white dots all over its body. You can see the bird on his back and he looks back so you can see his head in profile. The birdie is sitting on a branch with leaves that is drawn pretty wild with drippings and spots.
