Description: Beauty can be a carefully constructed illusion. Beneath The Surface explores the disturbing contrast between the person we are shown and the person who exists when the performance ends. Behind the perfectly filtered photographs, the innocent expressions, the carefully rehearsed victimhood, and the silver-tongued lies, there may be something far darker waiting to be revealed. Batted eyelashes can disguise manipulation. Fake tears can manufacture sympathy. A charming smile can conceal cruelty. And sometimes, the more beautiful the mask, the more horrifying the truth beneath it. This painting is a glimpse beyond that mask—a moment where the performance fractures and the true form begins to emerge. coreychristensenart.com
Description: “The Weight of the Raven” represents the heaviness of loneliness—the quiet burden of repeatedly trying to connect with others, only to find those connections fading, or never deepening beyond surface-level small talk and brief, forgettable encounters. Each attempt that doesn’t take root only intensifies the feeling of isolation. Over time, reaching out begins to feel futile. As a result, withdrawal becomes a refuge, and isolation slowly replaces effort. But that distance deepens the very emptiness it was meant to protect against. In that space, feelings of worthlessness can take hold, and it can start to feel as if you are completely alone in the dark.
Description: Eternal - For centuries, the skull of the vampire lingers, witnessing endless ages. What once was a monster cursed to live in darkness is now embraced by natures beauty. Insects, flowers, and all of the earths warmth crown this ancient being as a reminder of its eternal existence.
