Description: Suilven, my favourite mountain in Scotland, located in Sutherland in the Inverpolly National Nature Reserve in the Assynt/Coigach region. Not the highest of peaks at a mere 2398 feet high but a steep climb and imposing to view from any angle, this particular one I think lends it a Matterhorn kind of look as you approach it from the Southeastern end.
Description: Photographed arriving and nicely silhouetted against the sunset at RAF Mildenhall a Boeing E-3B Sentry from Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, USA. The engines, a derivative of the original Pratt and Whitney JT3D still produce a bit of smoke as they did when this aircraft first took to the skies nearly fifty years ago.
Description: Lockheed C-5M Galaxy United States Air Force, registration 85-0009. Delivered to the USAF in 1987. The largest military transport in service with the USAF, photographed here about to land at RAF Mildenhall with a payload of three Apache AH-64E helicopters for the British Army.
Description: A Fairchild Republic A-10C Thunderbolt II of the Maryland Air National Guard and assigned to the 104th Fighter Squadron. Photographed on departure from Prestwick Airport, Scotland, heading back with KC-135 tanker support to its home base. It was part of a deployment of ten " Warthog " aircraft taking part in Exercise Swift Response operating from locations in Eastern Europe and the Baltic region.
