Description: This drawing is fueled by my ongoing fungi fixation and depicts a coral mushroom often found in Pacific Northwest forests. As ever, I’m dreaming of a life full of resplendent mushrooms, lush foliage, and tiny, beautiful critters, instead of all the hideous fuckery that is the human world.
Description: I drew a prayer plant inspired by my own treasured plant baby! Prayer plants have tiny, delicate, ephemeral flowers that open in the morning and wilt away soon after. I love that they are so full of life and movement: their leaves lie flat during the day, then gather themselves and fold together like praying hands at night. Every time mine throws out a flower, I feel so warm and fuzzy inside!
Description: This artwork shows three fearless, mischievous bunny astronauts floating about in space in an epic adventure as they hop, binky, and thump their way through the planets and stars swirling around them. This was inspired by my husband, who adores all things space-related, and our pet bunny.
Description: I drew a squirrel ready to celebrate her favorite spooky season with a nice, juicy pumpkin she carved herself! Every year, she bakes a batch of zombie cookies and snacks on roasted pumpkin seeds while she binges horror movies and waits for eager trick-or-treaters to arrive. Happy Halloween!
Description: I drew a Californian quail full of big, important thoughts about the best yummies to eat. On our anniversary hiking trip, my partner and I saw a bevy of Californian quails running hither and thither on their rather stubby legs. We immediately fell in love with their vibrant blue colors and couldn't stop laughing over the bouncy plumes that proudly adorned their little heads. I knew as soon as I saw them that I needed to draw them.
Description: This drawing of a determined squirrel hiker with an enormous souffle tail (the source of his pride and joy) was inspired by our anniversary trip to the mountains. My partner and I hiked all the trails, marveled over some breathtaking summits, stuffed ourselves with brick-oven pizzas, and made some lovely animal friends. This squirrel is eager and ready to be your new best hiking companion!
Description: I drew a little bunny playing her heart out on the piano. She finds it immensely comforting and therapeutic to pound out all her worries on the keys. She can't quite reach the pedals but she does her very best I've been playing the piano since I was a tiny human and once upon a time dreamed of becoming a concert pianist.
Description: I drew a bunny leisurely reading in her favorite comfy chair. This little bunny is not fussing over any past mistakes, failed endeavors, or fears about the future; she's simply just being and enjoying her existence on her own terms. I wanted to create a sense of calm, peace, and quiet contentment that I wish I could feel for myself more often.
