Description: Hey, I hope you folks like Cajun food, 'cause today we're making Elzar's down-home Neptune-style gumbo. Now, step one. You wanna boil some oysters in a pot of down-home Neptune-style gumbo. Of course, every now and then you'll wanna knock it up a notch with a blast from your spice weasel. ---Oh, yeah! Bam it again, Elzar! Knock it up another notch! Come on, you wimp! Work that weasel! Quit holding out on us.--- If you promise to stop interrupting, alright. Against my will, I'm gonna knock it up another notch.
Description: Farnsworth: Perhaps we could explode the whole damned nebula. What do you think, Curly Joe? Curly Joe: No, man. An explosion big enough to destroy that mama would take out half the universe. Sweet Clyde: You gotta Globetrotter that explosion up a little, Farnsy. Make it an implosion. Farnsworth: By God, Sweet Clyde is right. An implosion might just form a black hole that would stop more Chronitons from escaping. Tate: Whoa. Slow that brain train down, Prof. We'd need some kind of doomsday device to initiate an implosion like that. Farnsworth: Doomsday device? Ah! Now the ball's in Farnsworth's court! [He presses a button and a plethora of machines rises out of the floor.] I suppose I could part with one and still be feared.
Description: Jeff Goldblum was visiting the Strathmore performance space and my friend Sarah captured this wonderful photo of him, which I had to make into one of my paintings.

Description: The farm was shining with the hideous unknown blend of colour; trees, buildings, and even such grass and herbage as had not been wholly changed to lethal grey brittleness. The boughs were all straining skyward, tipped with tongues of foul flame, and lambent tricklings of the same monstrous fire were creeping about the ridgepoles of the house, barn and sheds. It was a scene from a vision of Fuseli, and over all the rest reigned that riot of luminous amorphousness, that alien and undimensioned rainbow of cryptic poison from the well - seething, feeling, lapping, reaching, scintillating, straining, and malignly bubbling in its cosmic and unrecognizable chromaticism.

Description: Print #9 in my series on gialli films again comes from my favorite giallo director, Sergio Martino, with his 1972 film "All the Colors of the Dark." This is a very psychedelic giallo, and that was something I wanted to capture in the painting as well. Aka "Day of the Maniac," aka "They're Coming to Get You" aka "Tutti i colori del buio."
Description: Print #10 in my series on gialli films comes from an independent film made a few years back right in the heart of the American Midwest, Jakob Bilinski's "# Tears on Bloodstained Flesh" (2014). I truly love this movie. I love that there are people still influenced by a love of this old genre that they are taking it and making neo-gialli!
Description: Print #11 (the last so far) in my series on gialli films is really one of my favorites. Antonio Bido's 1977 giallo "Watch Me When I Kill" aka "The Cat with the Jade Eyes" aka "The Cat's Victims" aka "Il gatto dagli occhi di giada" was a film I also recently discovered, but it quickly has moved up the ranks of my favorite gialli. Ans there is something about this particular painting that really captures that voyeuristic feeling of gialli films. I don't know why, but I really like this one!
Description: Print #7 in my series on gialli films comes from a giallo I just saw for the first time this year, Luciano Ercoli's "Death Walks at Midnight" (1972), aka "Cry Out in Terror" aka "La morte accarezza a mezzanotte." This one was a lot of fun, and I need to seek out more Ercoli films.
