And since then the phrase has always stirred up deadly cupcake vibes in my brain of southern belles plotting your demise behind their smiles. My sister in law is always using this phrase and is a huge SSDGM and murderino fan and was the OG inspiration for this piece. I hope you other true crime fans enjoy it too!

These cuddly sleeping orange tabbies is exactly what I need after a long day of having to people around other people. If you have never seen the Arizona desert especially at dusk when the orange rocks turn purple and the milky way comes out make sure to add it to your list of things to see. Being a Minnesota woman I was surprised at how moved I was when I went to Arizona to visit my in laws and of course do a lot of hiking ^_^ I seriously love Arizona. I never knew I would love the heat and the dry desert habitat almost as much as Minnesota. I made this as a gift for my Mother-In-Law to capture our magical dusk hike through the desert and botanical gardens. I can't wait to go back.

Montana is call big sky country for a reason. I painted this scene after being in a friend's wedding in Anaconda, MT last June. It was so beautiful being up in a meadow surrounded by mountains watching the clouds break across the peaks that I couldn't resist painting it. Montana was gorgeous I have plenty of more photos of landscapes to paint from this trip still and I look forward to heading back out once the pandemic is done to get in some more art time and meet their little kiddo who is on the way! ^_^

Foxes are a common sight in the northern hemisphere and with their bright colors they sometimes look like something that came from a fairytale. This made them to perfect silhouette to try out my new northern lights style on and I have to say it looks pretty amazing!

This black cat is watching and most likely judging you! Black cats are such cute little tea cup panthers. They can be super cute or chaotic little cat gremlins. This one seems to be deciding what he would like to be today.

I have always loved going up to the UP for skiing in the winter the closest thing to real black diamonds in the Midwest. There also is something magical about the north shore especially at night the way the stars and milky way take over the sky you really need to see it. Plus it was time to start sharing the love with more Midwest states especially for my wonderful in laws living in Michigan! Hoping to go up and see them soon once the pandemic is over :)

Let me start by saying I loved watching The Queen's Gambit and I had fun pondering the kind of funny chess pun items the characters (mostly Beth, Benny & Harry) might have had if this had taken place in modern times. I grew up learning how to play chess and suck big at it but one of my brothers as well as my husband both kill at it so I have a begrudging appreciation for the strategy it takes although the cockiness I could do without! ;) There was also nothing like watching Beth knock the cockiness out of the male antagonists/protagonists I need me some Beth Harmon energy for the next time I attempt to play this devious game. Our Crested Gecko, Kiki, was the inspiration for this as she is a spoiled rotten little princess with a huge sassy personality. We love her just the way she is and I made this sticker to show off her big personality which I am sure many lizard owners can relate to. Autumn has to be hands down my favorite season of the year and it's such a bummer that it is one of the shortest seasons in Minnesota. There really is way too much stuff to love about this season.
