This design is a historical interpretation of what that signage may have looked like.
Description: A close replica of a t-shirt worn by Terry Fox during his 'Marathon of Hope' attempt. Fox was a Canadian athlete, humanitarian, and cancer research activist. In 1980, with one leg having been amputated due to cancer, he embarked on an east-to-west cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Although the spread of his cancer eventually forced him to end his quest after 143 days and 5,373 kilometres (3,339 mi), and ultimately cost him his life, his efforts resulted in a lasting, worldwide legacy.
Description: Hercules Mulligan was an Irish-American tailor and spy during the American Revolutionary War, and a member of the Sons of Liberty. Mulligan's tailoring shop in New York was frequented by high ranking British Soliders. Unaware of Mulligan's connections, the soliders carelessly let slip details of upcoming British movements and plans. Mulligan would go on to relay this information to General Washington. Signage at his shop featured a golden spool and scissors, and later, the claim to be a 'Clothier to Genl. Washington'. This design is a historical interpretation of what that signage may have looked like.
Description: During the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, German forces surrounded the Belgian town of Bastogne, where American troops, including the 101st Airborne Division, were holding out. On December 22, 1944, the Germans demanded the Americans surrender. Brigadier General Anthony McAuliffe, acting commander of the U.S. forces, famously replied with a single word: "Nuts!" — a defiant and confusing response that symbolized American resolve.
