Hi, thanks for checking out my store. I had a great career as an illustrator working for national clients from studios in Chicago and later rural North Carolina. Dabbling in art from a young age and taking an art class in high school I went on to attend the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. From there I apprenticed at Handelan-Pedersen Studios in Chicago, enjoying great opportunities and learning the commercial trade from the talent there. Later, I freelanced in various studio locations in downtown Chicago. Since retiring I’ve gotten into pottery with my pottery partner in clay, Marian. The inspiration for the National park poster art came from a month long family road trip as a young child starting in Lansing Illinois, taking mostly route 66 and ending up in the LA area. Stops were made along the way at a few national parks where my Dad took hundreds Kodachrome slides which I still look at from time to time to get the nostalgic feelings back from that inspiring journey from my youth. In recent years, I've taken many vacations which have included many parks we visited as a child. I hope my art gives you the warm feeling I have for our national treasures.
