BASKET CASE Is a must-see if you're fan of low budget horror trash genre. It's so low budget it's shot in one of the real dirtiest hotels in 80s New York for free. I loved every second of this horror-comedy gem starring a pocket faced (but definetly right for the part) actor and one of the cheapest looking prosthetic monster. In spite of being this cheap it never runs out of creativeness.

I've seen the poster of this movie so many times and i always thought this was a ordinary gory horror pic. I would never imagine a hilarious gore-fest which was one of famous Peter Jackson's first films. With crazy angles, hilarious dialogue and a surprising subtle mama's boy plot you need to see this freak show!🧟♂️

Candyman (1992) was a huge surprise and refreshing experience from a 90s horror movie. A tell-tale called Candyman is all around in projects and a social study academic named Helen tries to pursue this urban myth. Story is very authentic, has a great connection with reality and has the good old Clive Barker charm to it. And Tony Todd is really scary.

Xtro was an unexpected sci-fi, horror gem from 1982. It was touching story of an absent dad who was abducted by a UFO, but nobody believed the young kid who was there when the event occurred. Now his father is back to get his beloved child with him to this unknown planet.

Child's Play is one of my favorite slashers. As part of being a solid horror movie, I think it's one of the most creative slasher movies ever. If you've watched the sequels before the original, you should give this gem a shot. Chucky will forever remain as my favorite evil doll. Riki Oh - Story of Ricky
was one of Cronenberg's early films that i did not have the chance to watch. On a recommendation by @mstanya88 i have watched it and it took a little bit time to sink in. It started with a premise more like "dangeorus mutants" kind of movie and lead to more of a "science gone wrong" theme we are familliar with. I really enjoyed this violent and gory take on telepathy. Telepathy is often pictured very clean and plain. Here its a matter of your "scanning" power to make someone go mad or make their whole head explode. And that head explosion gonna stick with me for a while. Loved every use of prosthetics l effects here. Only the final scene makes it worth giving the movie a chance. Illustration by Halil Karasu

Artwork by Halil Karasu https://www.instagram.com/halilikarasu/ Hellraiser has been a strange memory since my childhood, with its costume and make-up that seemed like it came out of a nightmare. A few years ago I had the chance to watch and read the original book from cover to cover for the first time, and Cliver Barker's work dealing with the line between pain and pleasure has mesmirezed me. It will always be one my favorite 80's horror movies.

Shocker is one those films you watched as a child on Vcd and always remembered it as a cool and interesting slasher movie. Felt like this movie was underrated as a 80s slasher and wanted to watch it again. Seeing it again, it was an odd movie with an awkard chase scene beetwen tv channels, a soundtrack which is way out of place and very mediocore acting. It is a cute and fun experiment and a nice memory from my childhood.

Illustration by Halil Karasu a.k.a. Creepers is one of Dario Argento's unique, extraordinary films. It's an interesting mix of unusual music, nurse chimpanzees, and a young girl who can control insects with her mind. If you like to watch a weird and wonderful 80s horror movie, you shouldn't miss this one...
