Description: Vero Beach Dodgers, were a minor league baseball team based in Vero Beach, Florida. They played in the Class A-Advanced Florida State League from 1980–2006. The changed affiliation and played as the Vero Beach Devil Rays from 2006-2008 when they relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida as the Charlotte Stone Crabs.
Description: The Cincinnati Stingers were an ice hockey team based in Cincinnati, Ohio, that played in the World Hockey Association from 1975 to 1979 and in the Central Hockey League during the 1979–80 season. Their home arena was Riverfront Coliseum (now known as U.S. Bank Arena), and they were the only major-league hockey team ever to play in Cincinnati.
Description: The Havana Sugar Kings were a Cuban-based minor league baseball team that played from 1946 to 1960. From 1954 until 1960, they belonged in the Class AAA International League, affiliated with Major League Baseball's Cincinnati Reds. Their home stadium was El Gran Estadio del Cerro (sometimes called Gran Stadium) in Havana.
Description: The Newark Bears were an American Minor League Baseball team that played in the top-level International League from 1917 through the 1949 season, with the exception of the 1920 campaign and part of 1925. The Bears succeeded the Newark Indians, originally the Sailors, who played in the same circuit (known as the Eastern League prior to 1912) from 1902. During the Bears' lifetime, the International League was graded one step below the Major League Baseball level, Class AA through 1945 and Triple-A starting in 1946. The franchise played its home games at Ruppert Stadium in what is now known as the Ironbound section of Newark, New Jersey; the stadium was demolished in 1967.
Description: The Ottawa Rough Riders were a Canadian Football League team based in Ottawa, Ontario, founded in 1876. Formerly one of the oldest and longest-lived professional sports teams in North America, the Rough Riders won the Grey Cup championship nine times. Their most dominant era was the 1960s and 1970s, in which they won five Grey Cups. The team's fortunes waned in the 1980s and 1990s, and they ultimately ceased operations following the 1996 season.
Description: The Denver Bears were a minor league professional baseball team dating from the 50's until 1983 when the team was renamed the Zephyrs. There was an earlier Denver Bears team playing in the Western League from 1901 to 1954, but this logo is from the later team that played at what became known later as Mile High Stadium, but was originally known as Bears Stadium.
Description: The Iowa Oaks were a minor league baseball team based in Des Moines, Iowa from 1969 to 1981. The team was affiliated originally with the Oakland Athletics, then with the Chicago White Sox and the Houston Astros. The team became the Iowa Cubs in 1982 after affiliating with the Chicago Cubs.
Description: The Halifax Citadels were a professional ice hockey team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. They played in the American Hockey League between 1988 and 1993. They were created by the relocation of the Fredericton Express and filled a void left by the relocation of the Nova Scotia Oilers to Cape Breton. The Citadels, named after the Halifax Citadel military fort, were affiliated with the Quebec Nordiques National Hockey League team. Home games were played at the Halifax Metro Centre, located at the base of Citadel Hill. The franchise was moved to Cornwall, Ontario in 1993, where they were known as the Cornwall Aces. One year later, the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL filled the void in the market.
Description: The Minneapolis Millers were a minor league professional ice hockey team in the International Hockey League for four seasons from 1959 to 1963. The Millers played at the 5,500-seat Minneapolis Arena in Uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Millers were created on December 3, 1959, upon the relocating of the Denver Mavericks franchise. The Mavericks had rivalry with the St. Paul Saints team, that continued with the relocation. The Millers were 1963 Turner Cup finalists.
Description: The Appleton Foxes played in the Midwest League for nearly three decades. The team used the Fox Cities Foxes moniker from 1958-1961, and again from 1963-1966. In 1995 the team changed its name to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

Description: The Carolina Cougars were a basketball franchise in the American Basketball Association that existed from 1969 through 1974. The Cougars were originally a charter member of the ABA as the Houston Mavericks in 1967. The Mavericks moved to North Carolina in late 1969 after two unsuccessful seasons in Houston at the Sam Houston Coliseum.
Description: The Seattle Rainiers, originally named the Seattle Indians and also known as the Seattle Angels, were a Minor League Baseball team in Seattle, Washington, that played in the Pacific Coast League from 1903 to 1906 and 1919 to 1968. They were initially named for the indigenous Native American population of the Pacific Northwest, and changed their name after being acquired by the Rainier Brewing Company, which was in turn named for nearby Mount Rainier.

Description: The Memphis Sounds were an American professional sports franchise that played in Memphis, Tennessee from 1970 until 1975 as a member of the American Basketball Association (ABA). The team was first founded as the New Orleans Buccaneers in 1967. Known during their time in Memphis as the Memphis Pros, Memphis Tams, and finally, Sounds, they played their home games at the Mid-South Coliseum.
Description: The Oklahoma minor league team was originally known as the Oklahoma City 89ers from 1962 to 1997. It first competed in the Triple-A American Association (AA) in 1962, moved to the PCL from 1963 to 1968, and returned to the AA from 1969 to 1997. The franchise's original name made reference to the Land Run of 1889, which led to the founding of Oklahoma City.
Description: The "Austin Senators" is the name of various minor league baseball teams based in Austin, Texas, United States which played on-and-off between 1898 and 1964. Different incarnations of the Senators have played in the Texas League (1888–1890, 1905, 1907–1908, 1911–1914, 1956–1967), Texas-Southern League (1896), South Texas League (1906) Middle Texas League (1915) and Texas Association (1925–1926). In 1915, the Senators moved to the Middle Texas League and won two games as the "Austin Representatives" before relocating to Taylor, Texas due to severe flooding.
Description: The Minnesota North Stars were a professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1967 to 1993. The North Stars played their home games at the Met Center in Bloomington. The North Stars made the NHL playoffs 17 times, including two Stanley Cup Finals appearances, but were ultimately unable to win the Stanley Cup. After the 1992–93 season, the franchise moved to Dallas, and is now known as the Dallas Stars.

They competed in four full seasons before folding 25 games into the 1978–79 season. They played at Market Square Arena. They are often best known for being the first major league team to secure the services of Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier.
Description: The Pittsburgh Maulers were a team that competed in the 1984 season of the United States Football League. The Maulers opened their home season with a March 11, 1984 sellout crowd at Three Rivers Stadium facing the Birmingham Stallions. When the USFL voted to switch to a fall schedule in 1986, the Maulers folded because they could not compete with the Steelers and the NFL. The rest of the league soon followed.

Originally called the Pittsburgh Pipers, they were a charter franchise of the ABA and captured the first league title. The team played their home games in Pittsburgh's Civic Arena.
Description: The Edmonton Trappers were a minor league baseball team in Edmonton, Alberta. They were a part of the Triple-A level in the Pacific Coast League, from 1981 to 2004. In 1984, the Trappers (then the Triple-A affiliate of the California Angels) became the first Canadian franchise to win a championship. They were also the only team to win a PCL championship, and first to win any championship, under affiliation with the Angels. Home games were played at Telus Field in downtown Edmonton.
Description: The Sherbrooke Castors or Beavers (in English) was the name of two different junior ice hockey teams in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and another team in the Quebec Eastern Provincial Hockey League. Both later franchises played at the Palais des Sports in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.The Sherbrooke Castors (1969-1982) moved to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec in 1982, named the Saint-Jean Castors. In 1989 they were renamed the Saint-Jean Lynx. In 1995 the team moved to Rimouski, Quebec to become the Rimouski Océanic. This original Castors franchise won the President's Cup in 1975, 1977 and 1982.
Description: The Flint Bulldogs were a professional hockey team in Flint, Michigan from 1991–1993. They were a part of the Colonial Hockey League and played their home games at the IMA Sports Arena. They compiled an overall record of 47–66–7 (.421). After the 1993 season, the Bulldogs were relocated to Utica, New York and became the Utica Bulldogs.
Description: The Denver Zephyrs (formerly the Denver Bears) were a Minor League Baseball team based in Denver, Colorado. They were a Triple-A team that played in the American Association from 1955 to 1962, the Pacific Coast League from 1963 to 1968, and the American Association again from 1969 to 1992. They played their home games at Mile High Stadium. They played as the Zephyrs from 1984 to 1992.
Description: The Portland Mavericks were an independent professional baseball team based in Portland, Oregon. They began play in the short-season Class A Northwest League in 1973, after the Portland Beavers of the Pacific Coast League left after the 1972 season and became the Spokane Indians. The Mavericks operated as an independent club in Portland for five seasons, until the return of the PCL in 1978, and played home games on artificial turf at Civic Stadium in Portland.
Description: The Boston Sweepers was a team in the Atlantic Coast Football League. The team was owned by Ted Baron, who also owned a local trash disposal container company, hence the team name "sweepers". The team played from 1962 to 1964 in Boston before moving to New Bedford, Massachusetts and becoming the New Bedford Sweepers. The New Bedford Sweepers folded after the 1966 season. The Sweepers won two championships in the ACFL, 1964 and 1965.
Description: The Richmond Rifles were a professional ice hockey team of the Eastern Hockey League from 1979–1981, playing in Richmond, Virginia at the Richmond Coliseum. They played the final two seasons of the EHL. They were the affiliates of the New York Rangers for both seasons and the Winnipeg Jets for 1980-81.
