Description: Country Town Collage is a collage work I undertook in order to try and capture the charm of the many country towns spread throughout South Australia and Victoria. Most have a main street with shops with verandahs and there are usually some taller wheat silo or other old industrial buildings on the outer edge of the town. Often the towns are placed near creeks (small streams) which supplied their original water supply in pioneer days. Most usually have a small park area of some sort and usually they are not large enough to have traffic lights.

Description: Techno 3 is my third in a series of individual monotype prints with technology, industry and steam punk as the main themes. Each was created using a gelli plate and hand pulled to produce one original monotype print and one ghost print. I chose to print in blue as I had in mind the colour of architectural drawings like blueprints.

Description: Techno 3 is my third in a series of individual monotype prints with technology, industry and steam punk as the main themes. Each was created using a gelli plate and hand pulled to produce one original monotype print and one ghost print. I chose to print in blue as I had in mind the colour of architectural drawings. I liked the ghost prints as much as the originals so decided to post them here as well - they may look good in the home decor range when matched with the originals - light and dark colour contrast with the same design.
Description: This monoprint was created using 5 carved lino cuts and printing ink and was hand pulled on a gelli plate. I have digitally added some text on a couple of items. I made it as an entry to the Molonglo Conservation Group's Annual Art Competition at the Queanbeyan Art Society. It won a 2nd prize. The idea behind it was the importance of preserving our waterways, without which our native fish and animals would die. The fish in the orange section is meant to represent a fossil fish, which might be all that remains of many species unless we start caring for our planet better. Description: This is the 2nd in a pair of native grassland monoprints (See Native Grasslands 2A Acrylic Monoprint) which form part of a series of over 40 different monoprints with native grasslands as the theme. In the ACT in Australia on 3% of native grasslands remain. Both prints have been printed using acrylic paints on a gelli plate.

Description: Butterfly Encircled Within a Square was orginally painted on canvas in acrylic by Heather Holland for an exhibition called Strathnairn Squares. The idea is of a butterfly inside a circle which is inside a square - something different to the usual butterfly image sitting on a leaf or flower.
Description: This is a digitally recoloured version of a monoprint I did in fluoro colours and then overworked with ink line work. Unfortunately no matter how I scanned or photographed it I couldnot capture the fluoro colours, so I have just played around in photoshop and done a few versions with altered colours - non of them fluoro unfortunately.
Description: This is a gelli plate print which although I liked the pattern, I felt was a little dull, so I have given it a digital colour lift - it is a nice sunnier colour now. It looks like ribs -perhaps I should have made it look white and flesh colour!

Description: This is a collagraph print which I altered slightly by giving it poster edges throughout using photoshop - I always thought the original print, which was sold as it was, was just a bit too bright (especially for a war zone) and I wanted to just give it a bit more grungy definition and make the colours a little more subdued. The poster edges, because they are black, I think add to it by making one think of ash. At least if you purchase an apron in this design no one will notice any food you splash onto it.

Description: Messing around and having fun with shaving cream marbling (using inks). Chose this one as I thought some simple shades of blue might look good on some of the products. Now that I've put it up, I think I am going to have to add a bird or two.

Description: After I uploaded Marbling Magic 04, which was done with shaving cream and inks, I couldn't resist the urge to add some birds. I scanned a watercolour bird I had painted and digitally recoloured it and used photoshop to add the birds to the original work. I had in mind the flying china ducks that people used to have on their walls.
Description: Something a little more pastel in colour than usual - this is a semi abstract painting of snow on mountains created using watercolour on a gritty texture paste.

Description: This is an acrylic painting of the Jerrabomberra Wetlands in ACT, Australia. It is a wetlands conservation area full of native flora and fauna, particularly many species of birds. I painted this especially for an exhibition relating to water catchments in the Molonglo River region.

Description: I did this rather a long time ago (forgot I still had it) - I made a lot of collage papers using acrylic and watercolour paint, which I then collaged and overworked with more ink and paint. It was meant to be a sort of amusing take of the hidden things of dreams (or nightmares). It is a very wide collage work and so I have only put sections of it on some of the products.
