Description: Phthalocyanine blue, also known as phthalo blue, is a synthetic dye comprised of the macrocyclic tetradentate phthalocyanine ligand, and a copper metal centre. An oxidation state of 2 for the copper centre is what gives the compound its unmistakable blue hue!

Description: Prussian blue is famous not so much for its stunning colour, but instead for the octahedral geometry of six cyanide ligands around an iron centre within the coordination complex! The complex typically forms a red compound with potassium as the counter ion; to produce the Prussian blue and the observed compound above, potassium hexacyanoferrate is reacted with iron.

Description: The cobalt cations associate with the negatively-charged oxygen on the phosphates, just having some good old-fashioned fun. One of the cobalts isn't as keen as the rest, they're off doing their own thing.
