The 1991 Hellzapoppin Hong Kong Kung Fu Action Fantasy Horror Cult Classic THE HOLY VIRGIN VERSUS THE EVIL DEAD returns 30 years later with insane new art. This CAT III classic stars Donnie Yen, Sibelle Hu (in the first half), Pauline Yeung (in the second half), Ben Lam, and Kathy Chow. And remember, don't let the Moon Monster, DRUNKEN MASTER 2's Ken Lo, catch you or things WILL get nasty!

John Woo's last-directed classic HK film was 1992's action masterpiece HARD-BOILED. Chow Yun-fat and Tony Leung team up to take down a hospital full of Anthony Wong's henchmen is what remains the pinnacle of real-world, classic-style gun-fu filmmaking.

John Woo: HARD-BOILED
Jackie Chan reunited onscreen with three of his childhood Chinese Drama School "brothers" one final time for the 1988 Lunar New Year hit DRAGONS FOREVER. Sammo Hung abley handles directing duties, Yuen Biao does his acrobatic martial arts flips and kicks against Billy Chow, and slim and slimey Yuen Wah is memorable in another great villian role (similar to his recent EASTERN CONDORS role). Benny "The Jet" Urquidez returns from WHEELS ON MEALS for a climatic rematch with Jackie. DRAGONS FOREVER remains, at this point and probably forever, the final "Three Brothers" film.

Tsui Hark's 1986 classic PEKING OPERA BLUES is a genre busting Hong Kong classic. This design from artist Darren Wheeling captures the high energy and blazing color of this dramatic feast of a film. Brigitte Lin, Sally Yeh and Cherie Chung have never been better.

Jackie Chan, Carol "Do Do" Cheng, Eva Cobo DeGarcia and Ikeda Shoko star in Golden Harvest's epic 1991 follow-up to Chan's 1986 globetrotting action adventure ARMOUR OF GOD. The most expensive HK production of it's day, and taking over a year to complete, the Chan-directed film went on to become a world-wide hit. But filming delays, lead to Golden Harvest insisting Jackie work with other directors to help speed up production. He would not soley direct a film again for nearly 20 years.

Jackie Chan teamed up with his two childhood Chinese Drama School "brothers" for this 1984 romp in Barcelona, WHEELS ON MEALS. Sammo Hung directs, Yuen Biao does his acrobatic martial arts flips and kicks against Keith Vitali, while Jackie has a fist-to-fist battle with Benny "The Jet" Urquidez that is still considered one of the very best movie fights ever filmed. The lovely, Miss Spain 1979, Lolaa Forner co-stars.

Jackie Chan: WHEELS ON MEALS
In 1983, Jackie Chan teamed up with his two childhood Chinese Drama School "brothers" for what is considered the first of his true action comedy epics. Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao costar with Winnie Wong and professional villian Dick Wei in this non-stop action adventure, recalling the physical comedy of Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd.

Jackie Chan: CRIME STORY (Fire)
Jackie Chan was unhappy with the direction of THE PROTECTOR and returned to Hong Kong with is own idea for a police actioner. POLICE STORY was the result, and it remains one of Chan's all-time classics. From the high-energy fights, to the death-defying stuntwork to the engaging story, this Hong Kong action classic earned Best Picture at the 1986 HK Film Awards and rightfully so. It spawned 3 sequels, one spin-off, a HK TV series, and even two loose "reboots".

After Jackie's first attempt to break into the US film market, 1980's light weight The Big Brawl, failed to make much impact on audiences, a second production was greenlit, where Jackie played a tougher, modern "hero" roll, more in line with Clint Eastwood's "Dirty Harry" character. Partnered with Danny Aiello (after David Soul and Rick Springfield backed out), THE PROTECTOR (1985) saw Chan as a New York cop who travels to Hong Kong to, honestly, kick some butt and do some stunts. Jackie was so unhappy with the direction of this film that he shot additional action scenes for the HK market and then immediately made his own epic police drama, POLICE STORY released later that same year.

Golden Harvest encouraged Jackie to work with new directors, instead of handling those duties himself, in the hopes of speeding up shooting after the lengthy production of Chan's epic ARMOUR OF GOD II: OPERATION CONDOR in 1991. Stanley Tong was a stuntman-turned-director and he and Chan got along very well during the making of this third entry in Chan's POLICE STORY series. Jackie returned to his familiar HK cop role, but this time was paired with Maylasian beauty-queen-turned-action-actress Michelle Yeoh (freshly divorced and returning to filmmaking). Their wonderful chemistry, along with new shooting locations in Maylasia gave POLICE STORY III: SUPER COP a fresh feeling and went on to net Chan a "Best Actor" trophy at the 1993 Taiwanes...

This design is a custom variation of the original Japanese poster for Jackie Chan's 1985 American film THE PROTECTOR. Chan was unhappy with director James Glickenhaus' final product, so he shot new footage with HK stars Sally Yeh and Moon Lee to appeal to his home market. He also deleted certain scenes and added new faster-paced action scenes that better suited his style.

In 1978, after teaming up with Seasonal Films and director Yuen Woo Ping for the surprise hit, SNAKE IN THE EAGLE'S SHADOW, Jackie Chan worked again with the same creative team to produce the even bigger hit DRUNKEN MASTER. This "old school" classic, co-starring Yuen Siu-tien, Dean Shek, and amazing kicker Hwang Jang-lee showcases Jackie at his physical peak and has become a true classic of the kung fu genre.

Reuniting again with director Stanley Tong (POLICE STORY III: SUPER COP, RUMBLE IN THE BRONX), in 1996 Jackie Chan presented a new spin on his Hong Kong cop character. POLICE STORY IV: FIRST STRIKE offers a more globe-trotting, James Bond-inspired action adventure with added comedic tones. But whereas Bond relied on high-tech gadgets and beautiful women, Chan bumbles from one misadventure to another with nothing but his wits and fast reflexes. But of course Jackie is never truly "unarmed", as he famously utilizes whatever is available to complete his mission. Be that a pair of stilts, a step ladder, a snowboard, a sports car, or even a live shark.

Desperate to break away from the narrow-minded constraints of director Low Wei, Jackie signed a contract with Golden Harvest and poured his heart and soul into making THE YOUNG MASTER. Showcasing the kicks of Korean hapkido master Hwang In-Shik, Chan choreographed an epic one-on-one battle atop a mountain for the climatic confrontation. Jackie's "opera school" classmate Yuen Biao has a supporting role, as does Shih Kien (the villian from Bruce Lee's ENTER THE DRAGON). This is old school, high-energy, devil-may-care Jackie Chan kung fu at it's best.
