Description: This accurately detailed drawing is to commemorate this beloved building on Whitworth Street, Manchester. This building was known as The Haçienda. The windows, the fantastic colours, the massive delivery entrance and even the famous brick by the main entrance are all represented. The sky reflects the many early summer mornings that were ready to carry all of the partys that followed the night before. This is a very rare piece. The building is gone for ever. But the love lives on.
Description: This is a totally original art-piece that is being released at the perfect time. May 21 2022 will mark exactly 40 years since the iconic nightclub known as The Haçienda opened its doors. I worked at this amazing place for some years and remember these neon lights on a wall inside the building. I have recreated them in 3D, and then placed the smile grafitti on the light that is switched off. 3 different applications were used to create this highly detailed piece. The lights may be out. But, time won’t take my love away.
Description: The Haçienda FAC 51 opened in Manchester on May 21st 1982. The impact it had on the world will never be rivalled. Only Tony Wilson was the real believer. And, it is thanks to that legend of a man that The Haçienda came to be. I was lucky enough to be an employee at The Haçienda for some years. I remember a place by some steps that had these 3 neon lights on a small blue wall. They looked very much like this as I remember. This is my ode to The Haçienda.
Description: I worked in the iconic Hacienda (FAC51) for several years in the early 90's. The industrial stripes and colours are synonymous to that era. In the 90's there was no cooler and more hip place than Manchester (or so it felt at the time!). 13 stripes has a hidden meaning: 13th letter of the alphabet - M (meaning marijuana). The number 13 featured a lot around 1960's Manchester. Not that I condone the use of marijuana, it is subtle way to link these 2 important eras into one design. ROCK.
Description: I worked in the iconic Hacienda (FAC51) for several years in the early 90's. Now that The Haçienda is touring around the world and playing classic tracks through a live orchestra, I thought that this was a perfect design to commemorate the epic times I had there. The industrial stripes and the “USE HEARING PROTECTION” graphic are iconic for the clubs identity. A Classical design easily recognised by those in the know. Cool, modern and iconic. Just like The Haçienda.
